Hi Mazaya,
Applicants are required to remain in their home countries during the processing of their VAL applications. The applications will be rejected if the applicants enter Malaysia during the processing of the VAL applications.

But, I was told by the malaysian embassy that I can?
I told the malaysian embassy that I am an Indonesian student and my VAL is currently in progress, my passport is still with me as the emgs only require the scanned version of it, I need to be in Malaysia only for a few days, from 13th-17th December, and the embassy told me I can go to MY and that there’ll be no problem. If you said it was probably a miscommunication, could you please tell me how traveling to MY will affect my VAL processing?
@mazaya When you enter the country on a Social Visa, your details will be detected in the Immigration Department system when the application is submitted for VAL approval. Since you would have entered the country during the application process, your application will most likely be rejected by the Immigration Department.
