You will need the original to apply at the embassy. Ask to your school to send them thru DHL

My country is currently listed as the non-visa required countries as there is no Malaysian Embassy or High Consulate in my country.

No need for the original just print out the one sent by email n go the Malaysian embassy for obtaining single entry visa

You still need a SEV. so Print your VAL and go to Malaysian embassy in order to get a SEV.

If there is no malaysian embassy in your country, you can obtain a SEV at the airport upon arrival.
