The current official update which we have released is with regard to students from India, Indonesia, and The Philippines. We are are currently waiting for confirmation with regard to the travel ban for any other countries. We will send a bulletin once we have the information.

The EMGS approval letter will be ready for download within 7 working days. However, the process might be delayed if there are additional documents required.

The upcoming semester for master program at USM will be held online, at least for my faculty (comp.science). You should contact the IPS for confirmation about your faculty. If it also online, I don’t think you will be allowed to enter malaysia since you’re also under new student category. Most likely your application progress will stuck once reached 32%

New international students are not allowed entry into Malaysia until further notice. Since you are exiting Malaysia and applying for the VAL whilst in your home country, the regulations for new students will apply to you as well if the application type is listed as new.

Only existing international students who have valid Student Passes or Student Passe that expired from the 1st of February 2020 are eligible to apply for the travel authorization, if they are outside Malaysia.

There is no restriction for students who are arranging to exit Malaysia. However, kindly note that you will need to remain in your home country until the approval to allow new international students to enter Malaysia is granted.

Please be informed that it is a directive from The Immigration Department of Malaysia that students who have completed his/her studies in a language centre are required to exit Malaysia before applying for a new application in a Public and Private Higher Education Institutions.
