My suggestion is not to wait for expiry and then renewal of eval.. it’s better you come with a valid val and SEV. Apply for student pass and then you are free with a multi entry option.
Renewing val is a big story, first you will have to cancel the current expired val, then apply for a new, then another SEV… choice is yours

I have submitted my passport to the Visa unit iium on 9th of may but still they didn’t submit my passport even to the EMGS, what should I do further?

If you come after expiry of VAL, you will be imposed a penalty and you have to get a new VAL and then apply for Student etc… it means less of huge money and time… so come before expiry of VAL…

Is there any alternative option to extend val?? Because I got SEV and its validity is till July i want to travel in july. But my eval and travel authorization letter will expire in june what should i do now?

Dear EMGS
I have submitted my passport to VISA Unit of my institute on 9th May but the EMGS status is still not updated.
Is it a normal thing or my Institute is delaying my passport for some reasons?
I am a PhD student and on one month leave from Pakistan and have to travel back.
Please guide me what to do now.

My application is at 15% since last week pending additional documents.
I have submitted my docs today and also three days back.

Kindly process my Eval as my institute is giving me reminders of enrolment.

Thanks for the kind response.

What will i do now in case of non issuance of VAL? My uni requires VAL for enrolment and this might be same with other malaysian universities just like my uni which is IIUM.
Kindly guide me with the situation and let me know about any remedy available to me or any student from other uni.

I am from pakistan and I got admission in PhD law program at IIUM.
Today i paid my admission along with all other fees.
During online enrolment i was asked about my VAL?

Hi Nagina,

Pakistani students can still apply for a student visa. However, due to the travel ban, the applications will be put on hold until the travel ban is lifted.
