I have same case of passport validity of one year. I waited almost 2months before I knw d reason for d rejection buh after I renew my passport and forwarded to my institution d appeal was made immediately on d 4-12-17, on the 7-12-17 it was 50% and on 20-12-17 it was approved and ready for dwnld a 70%

I had a similar experience of rejection and it took almost two months before d appeal was submitted by my institution buh after that it took 16days to get approved.. It will be well in Shaa ALLAH. Wish u all d best
