Dear Emgs,
I want to make further enquires on the link between social visit pass and dependant pass. My institution (USM) said its impossible for me to get vdr which is a requirement for my son’s visa (he is just a year old and 2 weeks) and I will like to bring him along because of his age. Hi Emgs, the visa unit (USM) in my institution said it is not possible to bring my family because it is impossible to change from social visit pass to dependant pass. They advised me to come first, get my student pass and apply for vdr for my dependants.

Thank you for your prompt response and valuable information. This means I do not need any approval by my institution for the social visit pass for my dependants. It solely depends on the Malaysia embassy requirements and my SEV approval..?

Hello, I have applied and I am in Malaysia already. You don’t need NDLEA visa clearance. What you need are as follows:
Yellow card
Eligibility letter from Ministry of education ( O level, Bsc. Msc.)
U will certify all these at the Ministry of foreign affairs
Offer letter
Sponsorship letter
