Sorry no, I’m not from one of the banned countries. As far as I can tell from EMGS announcements, the ban is still in place for those 23 countries.

A further update to my earlier post: I submitted the Travel Authorisation I received from Immigration along with my passport details page and LOU to the Malaysian Mission in my country yesterday, and today received an email with my Travel Note. Since I requested for info from people here, I thought I’d also share since I’ve just successfully gotten my Travel Authorisation. I applied through the EMGS website on 21 October and was approved by my institution on the 22nd.
