The current movement control order (MCO) is until the 12th of May 2020. Since your Student Pass is valid until the 29th of July 2020, you can arrange to travel back to Malaysia once the MCO has been lifted. At present, we are unable to confirm when foreign students will be allowed entry into Malaysia. However, any updates will be notified in due course.
With regard to your Student Pass renewal, your institution can proceed to submit the renewal application and upload the documents via our system. Depending on the options selected in the application, we will process the application until either:
1. the request to submit your passport for the Student Pass endorsement, or
2. the issuance of the e-support letter for self-endorsement.
Kindly note that the Immigration Department will remain closed during the MCO period. As such, your institution will only be able to submit the passport to EMGS or the e-support letter to their respective state Immigration Department once the MCO has been lifted.
In the event that the MCO is extended, and your visa expires during the period you will be required to enter Malaysia on a Social Visit Pass and subsequently renew the Student Pass. Please be informed that you are required to return within 3 months of your Student Pass expiry in order to be eligible for the Student Pass renewal.
We advise that you refer to the FAQs above, should you have any enquiries related to the application process during the MCO.
