Dear EMGS Officer, I have an inquiry; I am Indonesian and I came to Malaysia on 16 March 2020 to attend a Monash Graduation on 4 April 2020. I did a checking on 15 March 2020 whether Monash has sent me an email regarding graduation whether postponed or not, but I didn’t receive any.
But after I got home in Malaysia, Monash indeed sent me an email about ‘postponed graduation’ on 15 March 2020 at ‘night’. So, I was really surprised.
I cannot go back to Indonesia currently, since Malaysia has locked-down and there is no Malindo flight from Subang to Batam. I did purchase a flight ticket back to Indonesia on 10 April 2020, but the ticket is cancelled by Malindo due to COVID-19 outbreak. And my tourist visa will be expired in 2 weeks.
Since I do not want to risk myself to COVID-19 both in Malaysia and Indonesia, I would like to quarantine myself longer in Malaysia until it is safe for me to go back (and of course when the flight is back to available for me to purchase).
Since Malaysia today announced that the lockdown status will be extended to 14 April 2020, I become worry about my visa status. So, is there a way to get a Special Pass Visa to extend my Tourist Visa before my status becomes ‘Overstayed’?
Dear EMGS Officer, your advice is really appreciated for me. Thank you in advance!
