Most likely, your friend has the start over the process again. Her Visa expired, you said. She needs to get a new offer from the university then apply for the val with her new passport. However, in order to be 100%sure, your friend must send an email to emgs with the details of her old passport just to get assurances that the old Visa will not unreasonably preclude her future applications.
