    • Hi Alina,

At present, we are in the midst of clarifying the entry procedures with the relevant Government agencies. If the procedures are released before the expiry of your VAL, we advise that you refer to the Malaysian Embassy to check if they are able to issue you with another SEV.

In the event that the procedures are released after your VAL has expired, your Education Institution will be required to submit a request to EMGS to extend the validity of the eVAL issued to you. They are required to provide EMGS with a new offer letter stating the deferment date together with all the relevant supporting documents. EMGS will facilitate by submitting the request to the Malaysian Immigration Department. Kindly note that the decision to extend the eVAL is solely at the discretion of the Malaysian Immigration Department.

      Have a nice day.

      • Dear EMGS,
Thank you for your detailed response, you are doing great job in supporting and guiding everyone.
My VAL is expiring 22nd july, i asked a travel agent about new visa but he said that embassy is close yet, can you tell me if i can travel with an E visa and can i apply for it myself?

      • I am from pakistan

        • @alina_2 You are required to be holding a valid VAL and SEV upon entry into Malaysia. If the VAL is expiring, we advise that you liaise with your institution directly to extend the validity.

          • Dear EMGS

Thanks alot for the kind response.
I asked the visa unit iium about the eVAL extension and they responded with this,
Please be informed, after discussion with EMGS, EMGS allowed the students to request to extend the validity of the eVAL.

For your information, as for now Malaysian Immigration Department still holds all the processes for eVAL application. EMGS will facilitate by submitting the request to the Malaysian Immigration Department after Immigration Department resumes the eVAL process and allows them to submit it. Kindly note that the decision to extend the eVAL is solely at the discretion of the Malaysian Immigration Department not with IIUM Visa Unit and EMGS. If the Malaysian Immigration Department rejects your request, you have to apply with the new application.

            Please guide me with this.

Will accept my application directly or they will do it kn my behalf.

            • @alina_2 Your institution will submit the VAL extension request on your behalf, once the Immigration Department resumes the process of issuing VALs. The approval to extend the VAL is solely at the discretion of the Immigration Department.

              • Dear EMGS,
Thanks alot for your kind response.
Is there any information about the immigration office reopening?
Please let me know whether they are resuming soon or will it take time.
